From hospital biostatistics to national HIV strategic information, my work has stayed close to the people and systems responsible for turning data into care.

2017 — Present

Strategic Information Focal Person / Laboratory Information Systems Specialist

Ghana Health Service · National AIDS/STI Control Programme (NACP) · CDC Cooperative Agreement

National HIV Strategic Information, laboratory interoperability, data quality and programme-intelligence leadership.

Strengthen HIV laboratory and health-information-system interoperability through viral-load analyser interfaces, barcode sample tracking and HTS/EID workflows within DHIS2’s individual-level function (e-Tracker), including staff training and data-transmission support.
Support scale-up of DHIS2’s individual-level tracking function across more than 700 ART sites while aligning it with aggregate reporting and service-delivery workflows.
Manage HIV rapid-testing Dried Tube Specimen proficiency-testing data across reporting cycles: collation, cleaning, validation, database maintenance, performance summaries and feedback reporting.
Extract, validate and prepare data from DHIS2’s aggregate reporting function (DHIMS2) and individual-level function (e-Tracker) for Spectrum and Naomi modelling; support national estimates workshops and technical analysis; and contribute as a named National Estimates Team member for the 2024 and 2025 reports.
Analyse HIV testing, treatment, viral-load and service indicators; verify programme beneficiary datasets; lead and participate in site monitoring; and produce decision-ready reports with recommendations.
Led the September 2026 joint e-Tracker and viral-load monitoring exercise across 24 ART sites in Western, Western North and Ahafo, coordinating data verification, service-pathway review and priority corrective actions.
Provide Strategic Information input to NACP planning, programme reviews and technical meetings, and prepare reports, presentations and practical training for programme and facility teams.

LIMS assessment, configuration and workforce preparation for public hospital laboratories in Sierra Leone.

Conducted needs assessments and configured LIMS for teaching hospitals and seven additional public hospital laboratories.
Delivered training and sensitisation for laboratory and information-technology staff.

Current NACP responsibilities

Five connected workstreams across the national HIV data pathway.

Within the National AIDS/STI Control Programme, I connect laboratory systems, service-delivery data, quality assurance, national estimates and programme review. The emphasis is timely, complete and accurate information that supports service improvement and progress toward the UNAIDS 95-95-95 targets.

01 · Interoperability

Connect results, samples and individual-level records.

Support viral-load analyser interfacing with DHIS2’s individual-level function (e-Tracker); barcode labelling, scanning and tracking for VL/EID samples; HTS and EID e-Tracker workflows; staff training; and monitoring and troubleshooting of data transmission between facilities and laboratories.

02 · Testing quality assurance

Manage DTS proficiency-testing data end to end.

Compile regional and site submissions, clean and validate records, maintain the national DTS proficiency-testing database, and produce performance summaries and feedback reports for laboratory and programme teams.

03 · National estimates

Prepare analysis-ready data for Spectrum and Naomi.

Extract and validate data from DHIS2’s aggregate reporting function (DHIMS2) and individual-level function (e-Tracker), prepare modelling datasets, and support national estimates workshops and technical analysis.

04 · Programme intelligence

Turn routine indicators and verification into action.

Analyse HIV testing, treatment, viral-load and service indicators; verify programme beneficiary data; lead and participate in site monitoring; and produce reports that translate findings into practical recommendations.

05 · Governance support

Strengthen planning, reviews and technical reporting.

Provide technical input to NACP programme planning, national and technical meetings, and programme reviews, and prepare the reports and presentations required to support implementation.
